Pretty little package called Democracy
So what has the war in Iraq meant for America.....

Note to U.S leaders....Democracy isn't a thing you can just "deliver". You cant wrap it in a pretty little package, drop it off on the doorsteps of the middle east and have it shoot out rainbows and butterflies. These are countries with deep rooted issues that have been going on for 100's of years. Something the U.S cant grasp being only 238 years old.
Today my little brother leaves for Afghanistan. Hes one of the smartest, caring, heroic, funny people i know and his guys are lucky to have him as a leader. Love you, be safe, and cant wait to see you when your back. Your the best xxoo

Garden space
With hundreds of unique little cafés and shops around New York having decent coffee is only half the battle. It's an experience and ambiance that people are buying and caprices has successfully done just that.
Being directly across from another well known Brooklyn coffee shop, you would think the husband and wife co owners were crazy for opening up the French cafe right there. It wasn't until the winter passed that the cafe boomed when they revealed their garden in the back. The space is enchanting, sweet, and calming. No wait staff or seating but open to customers to sit as they please. Try the croissants and coffee and take a break from New York life at Caprices.
Where the locals are.
While most Of New York flees the city come the weekend, I took the opportunity to hangout at some of my favorite local spots around my neighborhood, Williamsburg. So here is a list of places worth the trip off the L, what to order, and why they are a must.
Kinfolk studio may be on the top of my list. It pretty much has whatever your in the mood for. During the day on the corner is a cafe/coffee shop which transitions into the night with their mix of cocktails and indie electro pop. Next to the cafe is the shop with primarily mens clothing :( but cute home goods, books, etc. And at the end, though not publicized, a bar with a projection screen to watch whatever games on that day in the corner, and seating to do work across from it. Its my dream to create a space that functions with the rules of 3 as Kinfolk has so greatly accomplished.
If only I could find him a news boy cap!!!

Redefine Your Evolution
Ask any female 29 and older about how being 29 was and their look or gasp of the relief will tell it all. 29 sucks. You feel you haven't done what you had hoped, weren't where you wanted to be, and then the added pressure of everyone asking you when when when. That being said, i'm all about redefining my evolution. No longer comparing where everyone else says you should be, or what you should like, but living my life for me. So this blog is just that. Places i find special, Brands that draw me in, music that inspires me, and all the hidden little things that make my Brooklyn beautiful. R.Y.E
